3pt lift hydraulics stopped working

I was plowing snow with my Shibaura 1540 with the fender mount electric control panel when I went to lift the blade and it went no where. I have tried to narrow it down to an electrical problem to no avail. I have surmised that it is a problem with the hydraulic solonoid/valve/ whatever is on the side of the rear end under the seat. It has 2 pair of wires to control up and down. My question is...is this part something that normally malfunctions? Is it easily replaced? Is there something else I should check? Fluid level is good. I have another pair of hydraulic outlets run by the console that function fine. Any help would be great.

I'm pretty sure that this exact problem was discussed and it should be in the archives. I'll see if I can remember more about it if you can't find the discussion. I seem to recall that it was a Shibaura but I'm not absolutely certain. ....
